Policy Library

What is the IPHA Policy Library?

The Iowa Public Health Association (IPHA), an affiliate of the American Public Health Association(APHA), is recognized as a local health policy and advocacy expert, educating policymakers and Iowans on public health concerns. However, the IPHA faces capacity limitations to advocate on various state issues addressed in APHA policy statements. To support partners in cross-sector advocacy, IPHA distilled and tailored APHA statements into “Iowanized” versions, summarizing and providing direct access to APHA research and knowledge.

Who should use the Policy Library?

Anyone with an interest in public health is capable to download and use the materials within the policy library. Grassroots advocates, stakeholders, and partners across the state can benefit for these resources. We encourage other state-level affiliates of APHA to identify key issues within state and local politics and adapt pertinent APHA policy statements.
