Review and Process Incoming Appeals
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking a full-time employee to review and process incoming appeals to ensure cases are processed in a timely manner based on the Department’s administrative rules and program requirements.
Responsibilities:
Reviews and processes appeals by program. Determines the program and subprogram being appealed, county of residence of the appellant, worker name, worker number and the date the appeal was filed. Obtains case number and state identification number from system databases. Obtains copies of notices of decision (NOD) or notices of action (NOA) from electronic case files; or determines if the notice is not available. Determines parties, legal representatives and addresses for each appeal. Works to obtain an authorized representative’s signature, when needed. Determines if special needs, including translation/interpretation services are needed. Determines what documents need to be generated for all parties to the appeal and the appeal file.
