Epilepsy
What is Epilepsy?
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, affecting individuals of all ages and backgrounds. These seizures result from sudden bursts of electrical activity in the brain, leading to temporary disruptions in normal brain function. Seizures can affect a person’s awareness, muscle control, emotions, behavior, and sensations.
Epilepsy is the fourth most common neurological disorder in the world. 1 in 26 people will develop epilepsy in their lifetime.
