Public Health Specialist
- Leads quality improvement efforts: facilitating strategic projects of moderate complexity that improve productivity, streamline work processes, and reduce waste. This position guides leadership and demonstrates the application of quality improvement tools and methods. Responsibilities include coaching/ mentoring individuals and cross-functional project teams to ensure the timely completion of projects.
- Coordinates community health improvement teams to improve health indicators: establishing and monitoring data, and leading teams of professionals, community members, etc. to positively affect the data. This position will co-lead the community health assessment and health improvement plan using evidence-based approaches.
- Writes grant applications based on priorities and our mission. This position works heavily in grant application preparation using data and evidence-based approaches. This position tracks the progress of grants, and works with external agencies for partner applications.
- Serves as the back-up marketing & public information officer as needed. This position would primarily fill in for disasters or pandemics, like COVID19 when the primary officer is absent. Working with the media, setting up interviews, disseminating press releases, using social media & other methods to educate the public, etc. are all duties within this function.
