Public Health Nurse – ITS
This position performs intermediate skilled human support work conducting HIV and STI tests, contacting patients, entering and filing medical records, administering vaccinations, distributing condoms, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Public Health Administrator.

Performs comprehensive individual and family assessments, administers immunizations and direct client care.
Performs HIV and STI testing, treatment and counseling; provides referrals and recommendations to patients.
Collects lab specimens and/or performs testing, reviews and interprets lab results; performs phlebotomy work. Contacts patients with test results; enters medical records into state data system.
Coordinates with local businesses to distribute condoms.
Develops, implements and coordinates specific disease prevention, health promotion and health education programs as assigned. Prepares information for public dissemination.
Attends health fairs and collaborates with outside organization on health promotion and disease prevention.
